PRIVACY
Privacy, in plain words.
We keep as little as we can. Here is what we keep, why, and how to make us delete it.

No accounts, no tracking
You do not need an account to read Coffounder. Only sponsors sign in (see below). We do not use ads tracking. We do not use analytics cookies. We do not sell data to anyone.
Day or night
When you switch between day and night, your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage). It stays on your device. We never see it, and it is not a cookie.
What we keep from X
We keep public data from public posts on X. For each post, that is:
- the person's name, their @handle and their profile picture;
- public counts, like likes, replies, reposts, views and followers;
- the sentence where they share their result;
- the link to the post;
- their public bio and the links on their profile.
Profile pictures load from X's own servers. So when you open a page, X can see that your browser asked for those pictures, like on any page that shows them.
Why we keep it
The law calls our reason “legitimate interest” (GDPR, article 6(1)(f)). It means we have a fair reason: we show public founder results, always with a link back to the original post, so people can learn from real numbers instead of hype.
We keep this data while Coffounder runs. If you ask us to remove it, we delete it.
Ask to be removed
Anyone can ask us to remove their data, for any reason.
Write to support@coffounder.com and tell us your @handle on X. We remove your posts and your profile from Coffounder, and we answer within 30 days.
Who helps us
- The site is hosted on Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel keeps short technical logs to run the site and keep it safe.
- The posts we keep, and sponsor accounts, are stored in a database at Supabase. Supabase also runs the sign in for sponsors.
- Sponsors sign in with Google, and pay through Stripe. The emails we send sponsors go out through Resend.
- We read X through Desearch.
- The computer that reads each post is a language model from OpenAI. It only gets the public text of the post.
Sponsors
Some spots on the site are paid by sponsors. They are always marked as sponsored, and their links carry rel=“sponsored”. We count how many times a sponsor is seen and clicked, as plain totals for each day. No cookies, and we never know who you are. When you click a sponsor, you go to their site, and their own privacy rules apply there.
If you sponsor Coffounder
Sponsors sign in with Google, so they can buy a spot and change their tile. Then we keep:
- your name, your email and your profile picture, which Google gives us when you sign in;
- what you write on your tile, and your logo;
- how many times your tile was seen and clicked, as totals for each day.
We email you about your spot only: when it is live, and if a payment fails.
Payments go through Stripe. We never see your card. Stripe gives us what an invoice needs: your name, your address and, if you add it, your tax ID. Signing in puts a small cookie in your browser that keeps you signed in. Only people who sign in get it.
The law calls our reason “a contract” (GDPR, article 6(1)(b)): we need this to give you the spot you paid for. We keep it while you sponsor us, and the invoices as long as tax law asks (ten years in Italy).
Your rights
You can ask what we keep about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Italy that is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
